The online Accounting and Financial Management concentration is taught with a rigorous, AACSB-accredited curriculum that engages students in the latest industry tools. You’ll become immersed in new financial technologies and explore accounting analytics, auditing principles, financial services management concepts and more.

This online program features a unique competency-based education (CBE) structure in conjunction with asynchronous learning and 100 percent online courses through 14-week subscription terms. The CBE BSBA online program requires you to complete a total of 40 courses for 120 total credit hours. Those who qualify may transfer previously earned credits and earn credit for professional experience to equate for up to 75 percent of the program’s total course work.

Accounting and Financial Management Required Courses

Theoretical and practical foundations of financial accounting and reporting for assets and current liabilities.

Accounting for property, plant and equipment, intangible assets, investments, current and long-term liabilities, stockholders’ equity, dilutive securities, earnings per share, and time value of money concepts.

Description: Preparation and utilization of financial information for internal management purposes: planning and special decisions, cost determination, performance evaluation and control.

Internal control, test of transactions, direct tests of financial statement balances and statistical sampling, with emphasis on the auditor’s decision-making process.

Major concepts used in taxation of income by federal government including enactment of tax laws, basic tax research, preparation of basic tax returns, and exploration of tax policy issues.

A practical investment course that focuses on portfolio management through the use of an investment simulation.

The application of financial management techniques is employed to the economic and regulatory environment of banks and financial service companies.

This course provides an overview of the financial planning process and the principles of insurance. It includes an analysis of risk and strategies to eliminate, minimize, or transfer risk. Students learn the key components of life, accident, and health insurance policies as well as property and casualty insurance.

To be admitted to the online BSBA program, you will need:

  • Official transcripts from each institution you’ve attended
  • A GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale from prior institutions (including a 2.0 GPA during your last term of attendance)
