Louis Morenga Hunt

Adjunct Professor

Louis Morenga Hunt is a faculty member and advisor in Winthrop University’s Master’s in Arts Administration program (M.A.A.A.). He has received multiple awards and recognition for his work in the U.S. and abroad, including the Community Enterprise Award and “City Shapers” Award in England, the Latin American “Excelente” Award and Mayor’s Certificate of Appreciation for his work in Charlotte, NC and Winthrop University’s Medal of Honor in the Arts Award (2010).

Morenga is also an independent contractor and consultant with three consulting firms. He provides a variety of professional consulting services to arts, nonprofit and for-profit organizations and businesses. Current and recent clients include the North Carolina Arts Council, South Carolina Arts Commission, Arts Council of York County, the City of Rock Hill, the Old Town Association of Rock Hill, the City of Lancaster (for their Performing Arts Series) and OnQ Productions (an ASC grant client in Charlotte, N.C.).

He is a former faculty member in the College of Education at Ohio State University and former faculty at Bowie State College. While in England, he served as a consultant to the Arts Council of Great Britain and the British Council and as managing director of a performing arts center in Manchester, England. He was also the former vice president of Education and Community Programs at the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Morenga has extensive local, national and international experience and skills in arts and nonprofit administration, leadership and management, arts education, grant writing, strategic and business planning, program and project development, audience development, community engagement and participation and professional development training for artists, educators and administrators.

Morenga earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education from Ohio State University, where he also conducted his Ph.D. studies (ABD).
