Online Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Special Education Intervention Curriculum

This 30-credit, CAEP-accredited program offers two tracks for licensed teachers. The Intervention track is focused on building their skills in intervention and support. In this curriculum, teachers learn proven interventions that meet students at their learning level to support their success in standards-based classrooms, with minimal disruption, before they would need special education. The Licensure track, for non-Special Education teachers, is focused on core competencies aligned to CEC's Initial Preparation standards in K-12 Special Education.

Specifically, teachers will learn how to build, lead, and participate in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) programs and to coordinate and deliver evidence-supported interventions in the areas of behavior, literacy, and numeracy. In the optional licensure track, students will learn about behavioral methods, literacy strategies, educational research, and more.
