Dr. Sherry Hoyle

Ed.S. Educational Leadership Program Director; Associate Professor — Educational Leadership

Dr. Hoyle currently serves as an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina. She has been on the faculty since 2017. In that time, she has been published in several national and international journals and has led presentations at state and regional conferences.

Prior to her tenure at Winthrop University, she served in many district-level leadership roles ranging from superintendent, assistant superintendent, and director of elementary education to the building level. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

Dr. Hoyle's research has centered on school climate, superintendent tenure and impact on student achievement, underrepresented populations in education, and effects of rurality and gifted education.

Dr. Hoyle received her M.Ed. from Lenoir-Rhyne University and an Ed.D. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
