Winthrop University offers a variety of resources for our student veterans, including:

VA Educational Benefits

Winthrop University honors educational benefits offered to eligible veterans and their dependents through the federal Veterans Administration (VA). These benefits help approved students pay for college.

Veterans and dependents of veterans can learn more about VA educational benefits and apply at https://www.va.gov/education/.
Enrolled Winthrop students who have been approved by the VA for educational benefits will work with Winthrop’s VA Benefits Coordinator to access their benefits. Contact a coordinator at va@winthrop.edu.

The Yellow Ribbon Program

Winthrop University is proud to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows approved institutions of higher learning and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to contribute tuition and fee expenses that exceed the established thresholds under the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
