Robert Wildman has been a full-time arts management educator since 2003: As Associate Professor and Director of the Arts Management program at LIU Post (Long Island University/C.W. Post), and creating and directing the program in Performing Arts Management at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has also taught for 20 years for the limited residency Arts Administration program at Goucher College, and for six years at the Yale School of Drama.

Janet Brown

Janet Brown is a nationally recognized keynote speaker, workshop leader and facilitator, specializing in governance and leadership, financial sustainability, philanthropic practice, public policy and advocacy, and racial equity in community engagement and services.

Janet recently stepped down as president & CEO of Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA), a national association for private foundations and public agencies. Under her leadership, GIA became nationally recognized for its bold racial equity in arts philanthropy work and its focus on the financial health of the nonprofit sector.

Brenda Floyd, M.B.A.

Brenda Floyd holds an M.B.A. from Winthrop University with a concentration in accounting and recently retired from the Winthrop University Foundation as the Senior Director of Financial Affairs. Her interests and experiences in accounting are many, and her focus for over 15 years has been not-for-profit accounting and finance. She has also developed and taught classes in personal finance and budgeting for a broad range of participants. Brenda has taught for Winthrop’s College of Visual and Performing Arts since 2007, including courses on arts administration, costume construction, and stage makeup. She has also worked in professional theatre for over 20 years and is a proud member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Gary C. Guffey, Ph.D.

Gary C. Guffey earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mass Communication from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina for a Master of Business Administration degree. At Indiana and the University of Georgia he enrolled in many media law courses. Dr. Guffey did his undergraduate work at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, where he double majored with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics. He also attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for accounting.

Before teaching Dr. Guffey worked in the industrial paint business for PPG industries. Later, he owned and operated Greensboro Trade Coatings as a PPG dealer.  He also worked for SESAC as a music licensing consultant.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Guffey understands the importance of teaching and training others for their life goals and experiences. As an educator, he tries to provide a custom path catered to each student to help them excel in their own way.

Dr. Guffey has taught at the college level for over two decades. His areas of interest and expertise are media law with a copyright law concentration, media research, media relations, media management, business communication, and professional development. As a communication instructor, he knows the pace of technological change provides a challenge to be relevant to student needs. With so many new ways to deliver content, the teaching/training process itself continues to evolve which adds a component of continued learning to embrace and appreciate the enriching others’ lives.

Frances Howorth (she/her/hers) is an arts marketing professional with over fifteen years of experience in some of the nation’s leading arts institutions. She is currently the Director of Marketing and Communications for Duke Arts at Duke University, where she provides strategic support for an expansive portfolio of programs and initiatives, including Duke Arts Presents (formerly Duke Performances).

Marion Koltun

Marion Koltun is the founder and CEO of The Koltun Group, specializing in Strategic Management and Development. Marion also serves as the Director of Special Projects at Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Inc. Over Marion's 40 plus years in the non-profit sector, she was Executive Director of Dance Theater Workshop, General Manager of The New 42nd Street, and National Director of Major Gifts at the Jewish Theological Seminary's Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education.

Cathy Rumble, Ed.D.

Cathy Rumble has more than 15 years of experience working in program development for visual and performing arts in Georgia and South Carolina. Most recently, she served as program and exhibitions director at the Aiken Center for the Arts in Aiken, S.C. Her work there included developing arts programing for constituents of all ages and abilities and curating the exhibitions for the center’s four galleries.

David Wohl

David Wohl retired in 2017 after serving seven years as Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and Professor of Theatre at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. He holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Kent State University, the M.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of Connecticut and the B.A. in Psychology from Clark University.

Joy Young, Ph.D. has more than 25 years of experience in the arts as an entrepreneurial performing artist, arts administrator, and academic. Joy’s work as a performing artist included owning a successful music studio and performing as a recitalist, sanctuary soloist, studio and background vocalist.

Marisa Youngs

Marisa Youngs has been an adjunct professor of music in Winthrop’s College of Visual and Performing Arts since 2018. She currently teaches applied trumpet lessons and various music theory and ear training courses in the Department of Music. In 2021, she received the Adjunct Professor Excellence in Teaching Award from the CVPA Dean’s Council.
